Pit Stop to Nationals - The Toronto Pro Supershow!!

Hi everyone!

Well training has been going great! I feel awesome and look forward to my workouts Sunday through Friday. Saturday is a total rest day and a day that I appreciate so I can try to go harder and lift heavier the rest of the week!

This past weekend, 5 weeks out from Nationals, I decided to take advantage of an opportunity that was being offered at the Toronto Pro Supershow. During the expo, they were hosting an Oxygen and MuscleMag Model Search! I love Robert Kennedy and Tosca Reno and jumped at this opportunity to try my best at the cover of either magazine! My trainer's pro debut was that weekend and I knew of a couple other fellow competitors from Saskatchewan that were going, so I booked my flight and hotel and was off to Toronto first thing Thursday morning. Because I am still on a strict training and diet regime, I cooked, measured, individually packed and then froze all my meals I would need while I was away. There is usually always a fridge in the hotel room, if there isn't you can always request one, so all frozen packages stayed fresh until I needed to eat them! When you eat six meals a day and every meal needs to be at least 2.5 hours and no more than 3 hours apart, having everything ready to grab and go is paramount to a happy Holly! :)

I rushed to the Eaton Centre for some shopping as soon as I got settled in my hotel room and then was off for a photoshoot with a photographer I had the pleasure of working with from my Novice show. Getting to shoot with the great Glen Grant again!?! Already, the trip was a success!!

The search started on Friday and all pictures were reviewed that evening. Because the search was for a magazine, you had to be photogenic primarily and have a great stage presence. There were 89 girls in the Oxygen search and just under that amount for the MuscleMag search - wow!!! so many amazingly beautiful and fit women!!! The winners were announced at the finals on Saturday. Even though I didn't win either search, I had so much fun and it was a great way for me to practice my stage presence, posing and walk for Nationals. I got to share the stage with some pro's in the industry and met a lot of new friends! Nothing ventured, nothing gained right?

So this week i'm back to regular training and cannot believe Nationals is only 4 weeks away! Yikes!!! All I can do is eat and train like I have been and bring my best to that stage!

I have been experimenting in the kitchen again and have recently created "The PM Pancake!" I have this before I go to bed - so good!

The PM Pancake

Ingredients:
-150g Egg Whites
-15g Almond Butter
-2tbsp sugar-free syrup (any kind - i have been using sugar-free cookie dough, blueberry, white chocolate or caramel)
-cinnamon shake

Blend in the magic bullet and pour into baking dish lined with parchment paper. Cook for 25 minutes and enjoy!!!

Until next time - see you at the gym!
Holly
