Ok, so I just spent an our writing an entry in my iPad notes. I was nearing a close and got click happy to have the whole entry deleted and overwritten. No!!! :(. Here it goes and if this doesn't flow, I apologize as I'm going to try my best to remember what the juices were flowing pre delete!
I am en route to Vegas for my first ever Olumpia!! I will be representing Team Magnum so not only is this my first Olympua, but it is my first time attending a competition event as a worker bee. So insanely excited!
To catch up. Brett, Whitney and I just recently headed to our first Anytime Fitness annual conference in Chicago. With the company nearing their 10 year anniversary, there were 1400 Anytime Fitness folk in attendance from 17 different countries. I cannot begin to explain how lucky we are to be part of such a great organization that is truly committed to changing people's lives.
While away in Chicago, I hit my 4 week out mark. What does this mean? This means that my gum addiction is put to an abrupt stop. My walden farms pancake syrup is no longer in attendance at breakfast time on my protein pancake or in my apple cinnamon egg bake. Oh and the fizzy black diet coke that i order when at social events to feel somewhat included is defizzed and decolored and is now in the form of water! Sowhat does 4 weeks out really mean? A slightly short tempered Holly. Some might say I even seem bitchy! This means that my mental and physical energy must be utilized wisely. My time on the training floor must be used for training my best. My time doing cardio must be cardio and not leisure outings. My work time must be efficient and completed in a timely fashion. These last few weeks, if there could be more hours in the day, I rally could have used them.
The training facilities in Chicago were amazing. I completed my weight training with ease and Whitney joined me for so e stairwell cardio! Make sure to watch our YouTube channel for our Chicago stairwell edition of "GetFit With Holls and Whit".
I'm not going to sugar code this next part. The past week and a half have proved difficult. I find my mental and physical capacity is constantly challenged. Don't get me wrong, I love everything I am able to do and would not change a single minute of my day for anything. However, with the adjustments in my training schedule from solo afar to CFCI style in the club, returning from Chicago amped up with new ideas for execution, prepping for Vegas, prepping for my competition nearing (Oct 13), I have at times thought I might lose it. There have been few days where I have not cried, many times where i've thought I might be going crazy and doubted my physique. There were times where I thought the solution might just be to eat 10 stalks of celery or to graze on brussel sprouts continuously. My saving grace is my better half. Brett once again has proven to be amazing. He listens to me cry and talk through what I'm feeling. He enable me to be my best and resurfaces all of the positive things that continue to happen when all I can seem to focus on are the negatives possible I can'ts. You can fight through so much on your own, but the influences in your life make you who you are. Surround yourself with people that have the same drive as you and who want the best for you even though they may not understand your goal.
Bringing my chicken from a sandwich bag and plopping it on the fancy plates at the conference, turning away the dessert and entire meal for that matter, pulling stocks of celery and cucumbers out of my bag while in public like a magic trick and riding the city train station to a trader joes for some clean eatin' goodies is all worth it tome.
Thus as I write this in the plain bitchy Holly surfaces!...I was so lucky to have my own seat for the flight. However, this does not seem to stop a gentleman fro asking if he could sit in my spare seat taking more than his seat space and proceeding to talk loudly to the couple across the isle about calving, utters, amount of hair on the cattle...seriously?! I guess I will put my earbuds in. :)
Signing off for now with a busy next few days ahead.
